#1. Chantecler Restaurant (Le Chantecler)
There's no better place to feel all the charm of Nice than the restaurant "Le Chantecler" in the legendary Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais. Everything is perfect here: the royal atmosphere and the well-thought-out menu.
The restaurant has two Michelin stars. Here you will be served talentfully prepared dishes from local products. Visitors appreciate the service: it is unobtrusive but can turn into a spectacle when the dish is flambéed or sliced on the spot. The restaurant "Le Chantecler", with its 18th-century decoration, will be an elegant frame for an exceptional dinner!

And besides it delicious rabbit stew straight from the oven, stuffed vegetables farsi or grilled fish. "Le Safari" is located near the Promenade des Anglais, a few steps away from the flower market.

#4. Turin Cafe (Cafe de Turin)
Another popular gastronomic place is Cafe de Turin with fresh seafood on Piazza Garibaldi. The cafe exists since 1908 and in spite of high prices and rather ordinary taste of dishes it is crowded every evening.
Seafood is on the menu of almost every restaurant in Nice, and yet there is a place where it is the best. If you are crazy about fresh shrimp or greasy oysters, dream to try excellent crab and snails in Provençal sauce, go to "Cafe de Turin". If you want to try it all, order the platter: a large plate with seafood specialties from 37 €, a bargain for a small group.

Address: Place Garibaldi 5, Nice, France.
Opening hours: from 8:00 to 22:00. Closed Mondays.
#5. Acchiardo Italian Restaurant
In Nice you can also try the Italian cuisine as Italy is closer to Nice than to most cities in France. Most of these restaurants are just good, but the establishment of the Acchiardo family is a godsend. Nowhere else in Nice will you find spaghetti so superbly cooked as at Acchiardo.
Provencal dishes here can be cooked just as well, and they are served in mouth-watering large portions.

#6. Cresci Pizza
Pizza in Nice? Why not, because this dish is perfect for tourists: fast, delicious and cheap, even on the Côte d'Azur. And if you try pizza in the south of France, be sure to "La Pizza Cresci", where the most famous dish of Italy is able to unobtrusively give a French flavor.
You can watch the process of cooking from the hall. Appetizing pizza from the oven and a bottle of French wine will return your strength and cheer you up, and the cost of such a dinner is not expensive.

Opening hours: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Closed Monday.
#7. Pipo Chez Cafe
You can't think you've been to Nice if you haven't tried the famous Socca Pancakes. Locals have been going to "Chez Pipo" for generations since 1923 to enjoy this simple but very tasty traditional dish. Once you've tasted the socca at Pipo Chez, you understand why all Nice, spoilt by gourmet restaurants, loves simple pancakes in olive oil so much. Other Provencal dishes, such as onion pissaladière with anchovies, are also excellent here.

In Nice the food is good not only in expensive institutions, but also in small domestic restaurants. The proof is «L’Escalinada», one of the best places with Mediterranean cuisine. #9. Rotonde Brasserie
If you stay in Nice, at the Negresco Hotel, you should have at least one breakfast in the local Rotonde Brasserie. In this place you are transported to childhood: elements of the real old carousel are used in the decor of the restaurant. And somewhere between omelet and croissant, horses on wide backs of pink velvet sofas start galloping to the sounds of an old organ-grinder.
Unfortunately, everyone else is deprived of such an opportunity: now the famous champagne at the bar and a cozy brasserie are for hotel guests only, outsiders are not allowed in Negresco.
Average bill: €55.

Small and Homely Restaurants in Nice
In small domestic restaurants, where mostly the French themselves have lunch, you will not only get a delicious meal, but you will certainly be treated to digestifs: a shot of the strongest local moonshine, infused with basil.
For a cheap and pleasant snack you can try a fresh baguette with all sorts of fillings: eggs, tuna, vegetables, cheese, or meat. This pleasure costs about €5-7, the most delicious baguettes, according to witnesses, are sold at the port.
In the narrow streets of the old city there is a huge number of restaurants, cafes and places with fast food for all tastes and budgets. Lunch for one in a cheap cafe will cost on average €15, dinner for two at a good restaurant from €60 and above.
Do not deny yourself the pleasure to try traditional Mediterranean cuisine! Get acquainted with different dishes, taste fresh seafood and be tempted by a glass of French wine. Don't stop at one place you like. Nice always has something to offer: interiors, food, views and service!
